St Imre Roman Catholic Church, Balatonalmádi dr. Óvári F. u. 47. This parish church in the middle of the town was built by architect István Medgyasszay and, unlike the Hungarian folk style, this building is distinctively influenced by Transylvania, but equally incorporates the red sandstone of the area to give it a distinctive style all of its own.
Built in 1930, it stands next to the Holy Right Hand Chapel, itself moved here from Buda castle in 1956. Its rich gold mosaic is by Miksa Róth. It depicts King St. Stephen, and his famous right hand, which lies permanently in state in the basilica in Budapest. Some of his remains are reputedly here as well.
